Chance St, Shoreditch
Shooting over 3 days, our drone pilots flew complex drone flights over Shoreditch, London. Using the DJI Inspire 1, our GVC licensed pilots captured the immensely talented Joe Holbrook painting the mural for the ‘IWC TOP GUN’ campaign. Managing the risk of each flight with early morning flights, designated landing and takeoff zones and dual drone control.
Over 3 days, more than 5 hours of cinematic aerial footage was recorded of Shoreditch and the mural itself, all in 4k 25p D-log. This included orbits, fly-overs and even timelapse footage using autopilot.
Using dual control allowed us to have maximum control over each shot, prioritise safety and allow the producer to be involved in getting the exact shot they’re looking for, without compromising safety.
Shooting in Central London is only possible for those with the highest CAA drone license. Only 100m away from a CAA restricted flying area, our pilots had to undertake days of planning for each flight.
